WebDec 12, 2024 · My relative lives in a post war house which has been extended and has at least two C.U.’s fitted !. The earthing was checked at the property and the installer has recommend an earth rod to be fitted. He is having a Rolec smart charger fitted. I am pretty sure the quote was £570.00 for my relative to pay the installer completely finished. As the meter is inside it should be bonded within 600mm. of meter on your side but leaving it where it was before would not really matter. 10mm² may be correct; it depends on the type of earthing you have. WebJan 3, 2024 · The meter is not earthed. This has never been flagged up on the annual visits by British Gas to service my boiler (which is also in the garage). It only came to light when a salesperson from Br Gas came out to quote for a new boiler a few years ago. Within the quote was an amount of around £200 for earthing the gas meter.
