Maslow identified that human beings’ needs are organized “in a hierarchy that ranges from biological needs at the base to the need for self-actualization at the top” (Nevid, 2006, p. 263). WebAccording to psychosocial theory, we experience eight stages of development over our lifespan, from infancy through late adulthood. At each stage there is a conflict, or task, that we need to resolve. Successful completion of each developmental task results in a sense of competence and a healthy personality.
