WebThe most frequent causes of biliary obstruction and ascending cholangitis are choledocholithiasis, benign biliary stricture, and obstructing malignancy. In this report, we describe a rare case of a large periampullary duodenal diverticulum impacted with a food bezoar, causing pancreaticobiliary obstruction and ascending cholangitis.
